Blu Ray Rerelease?

Does anyone know why this is getting a blu ray rerelease so soon? It seems odd because the previous release from 2007 is still in print I think.

The only information I've been able to find regarding this is that the new release is simply a re-promotion with out anything (or much) changed. The amazon pages for each edition lists a very slightly different aspect ratio. I'd like to know more about this as well.

In other words it's a down-grade. So stupid and pointless.
