A Scanner Darkly discussed on Film Podcast

I prefer A SCANNER DARKLY to BLADERUNNER and prefer the novel to DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP? I can't be the only one right?

I recently discussed A SCANNER DARKLY a bit on my friends new Film Podcast. Beyond discussin new releases (SUPER 8 and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS) We were to choose two special sci-fi films, One pre 1985 and one post 1985. I chose A SCANNER DARKLY. If you have any interest check it out at the link below.

I might have agreed with you 15, 20 years ago (whenever I first read both books; I was smoking a LOT of pot back then and SD really hit home) but with a couple of decades on me I'd toss my lot with both Androids/Bladerunner.

It's personal preference, of course. Scanner (the movie) is certainly more "quotable" and even laugh-out-loud funny, but I'm a huge fan of film noir so BR is more my "style" and, I believe, much better made. I also like PKD's exploration of "what is human?" in DADOES, and still find it ironic that the replicants in it were more "human" than most of the "real" people.
