Question: Sell the house? Really?

I loved the film, but I was a little confused about one scene in particular.

After the group believes that they have been sabotaged (on the highway), they come to the determination (before seeing Donna in the house) that someone has entered their home and planted drugs in an attempt to frame them. When they panic, Barris suggests selling the house. Arctor goes on to elaborate, even stating that they could advertise what was stashed within the house to draw in buyers.

Did anyone else find this confusing? If the authorities knew they were avid drugs users/buyers/sellers, would they really need to plant drugs in their home to prove their point?

Most importantly, how would they successfully go about selling the house in a newspaper (advertising illegal drugs within the house) and plan on not getting caught in the process?

Was it all just some drug induced babble or am I confused?

Thanks!

Combination of drug-induced babble and them trying to make light of a heavy situation. By the end of it they're joking around, knowing it's obviously not a practical solution.

I figured the drugs had something to do with the irrationality. Thanks for your response.
