What did Donna mean when she pulled away from Arctur and told him she had to be careful about letting people touch her because she does 'so much coke.'
She repeats it when she is chasing after him when he storms out.
Is this some kind of code talk, or does she have a wire on her, or is coke known to make people weird and jumpy like this??
Donna doesn't actually do coke -- she just says she does as part of her cover. The excuse about not touching is just to help her keep distant from Arctor: she actually has feelings for him, but knows he is a pawn set up for sacrifice in the larger scheme, and can't allow herself to get too close.
I see your lovely beans, and in that magic go-kart I bite your neck.
Variations of this thread have popped up every few months, and a while ago someone claimed that the "cocaine use = not liking to be touched" was true. That was the only instance of anyone defending the idea.
It might even be true, but I have a hunch you have to take it on a user-by-user basis, and a cokehead who doesn't like to be touched would probably be that way sober.
As to the movie-specific instance of Donna, one must remember she wasn't actually a coke user, and the "don't touch me!" schtick was part of her cover story and defense mechanism against getting too attached to Arctor.

I know A LOT of people HATE being touched when they're on coke. It makes lots of people paranoid, extra aware of EVERYTHING. Things sound louder. The idea of someone touching "you" = skin crawling!! Coke affects the adrenal system. Puts you in fight or flight mode.
I know a lot of crack ho's have a lot of guys convinced that coke makes them "horny". I firmly believe this is just a way to manipulate men into givin up the drugs. They want the crack, the dudes want sex. Oila!!:crack makes them horny...............Please!!!
Honestly, I forget that there really are lots of people out there who never tried drugs. FOr those who don't know. Coke has a peculiar way of making one want MORE> Even the first time you do it. It's called the S'mores.........Cause you ALWAYS want some more. BELIEVE ME!! I don't know a single woman who truly likes being touched when she's been doing coke. But I'm not talking about snorting a line, I'm talking about shooting coke for hours, or smoking crack for hours, days,whatever............. Men, however, often say it makes them horny. Go figure!! Horny is the last thing it made SWIM.

Huh? Anyway, coke isn't as addictive as people like to say. It's been a while since I've been around it but the first time I used coke I wasn't some instant crack fiend, far from it. And we used to bang like bunnies on it (me & the chick I did it with).
I think the Donna references were not about some coke induced 'not wanna touch' thing, but just the fact that the longer you do it and the more you do the easier it is for people to take advantage of you. If you've been abusing coke habitually for a period of time and find yourself awake for longer than 48 hours at a time you'll find that you mind and body aren't performing at their peak states. You have to be careful to surround yourself with people you can trust in these types of states or you'll be easily taken advantage of.
As far as some pharmacological side-effect of coke use, it does not make you "not want to be touched." It can make arousal difficult at times (in men) and decrease a little bit the focus on sex in an otherwise health (horny) person... but that is beside the point.
I actually read it different -- she says she does a lot of coke and thus she "has to be careful..." So I took it to mean (whether part of her cover or not) that she was reluctant to enter into any physical relationship, for fear of being used by/for/as a result of her coke habit...
