One question I have, If someone could clear it up for me please.

So Reeves characters brain hemispheres are competing against eachother because of his addiction to substance D. So does this basical mean he had split personalites, one Arctor and the other Fred? So when he was hanging out with his friends, he didnt know he was an under cover cop, and when he was in his suit and at the police station, he didnt know he was Arctor? Is that the basic jist of it?

reply

Yes.

The novel makes this much more clear.

He loses track of which he is. It's two personalities diverging, like you said.

At the police station, when Barrett introduces evidence against Arctor, Reeves says they should check it out even though if he remembers he was Arctor he would know that the evidence is fabricated.

He even forgets that he's a cop when he's watching himself on tape.

The department leads Barret to believe Arctor is a cop, hence Barrett trying to kill Arctor and being paranoid about him, as well as trying to strike 'plea bargins' for turning in Arctor.
