When you are trying to validate your opinion it does not matter whether you tried to convince a random stranger of your opinion. An argument should stand on its own regardless of that. If you wish to express random nonsense and prefer to not be called on making wild claims I have a suggestion for you: try to enter a room with only 4 walls and a door, close the door, and start talking. Nobody will hear what you'll have to say, so you don't have to back up your claims! For the rest of the world: when you express yourself and are expressing *beep* (or in this case: lack any premises to support your argument) you'll be called on it, and you'll have to live with the fact you can (and often will be) called on it.
