Wonderful movie

The Lives of Others is a slow cooking but definitely hard hitting drama about East Germany's Stasi (Secret Police) investigator spying on a couple and transforming and realizing something about himself and his country and then doing the right thing eventually in his opinion.

I absolutely loved the movie and I thought it was well paced and well done. The ending definitely is very powerful and moving and rewarding to a degree for the viewer.

I am not surprised this movie was in Top 250 IMdb list (some junk in there though like TDK and TDKR). This movie definitely warrants being in the Top 250.

Excellent acting, directing and somewhat reminiscent of The Conversation (1974) film with Gene Hackmann. The stories are quite different however with a common central core about them.

Final rating: 9/10

I agree completely. Not many movies make me say "wow" when the end credits start rolling. I was so drawn into the Wiesler character I hated to see him go when the movie ended.

I loved the unique way Georg thanked Wiesler in the ending. It was very satisfying to watch.
