or is it like an Origin story only?

i read it quickly and saw that it was about a thief, so obviously that's Gambit's life as a thief before he joined the X-men and changed his ways.

but I am hoping they show him using his cards in this...... with current CGI it would be awesome.

Good call. This film might touch on his time with the Assassin's Guild.

I think you're right, there is a massive pre X-Men story to tell. I'll bet this movie will be dark (Nolan-esque?) and culminate with Gambit's exile from New Orleans.

The inevitable sequel will go on to tell the story of 'The Mutant Massacre' and Remy's eventual joining of the X-Men.

Can't wait.

This has nothing to do with X-Men, it's a remake of a comedy-crime movie made in the '60s or '70s.
