each girl's body in the book is described but Lena's; why?

it always bothered me, especially since you cant tell how close to the character Alexis was. We know obviously that Carmen was the heaviest; Tibby was (in the books anyway) skinny and flat chested; Bee was athletic, broad shouldered, and had a small-ish waist; but it ever tells us what Lena looks like other than going into detail about her face. I guess because each girl has a different issue with their looks (Carmen liked being big chested but hated how fat she felt next to her friends, Tibby felt ugly next to them, Bee thought she wasnt truly beautiful but was aware of the attention her body and beautiful hair got her) so since Lena's facial beauty caused a lot of stress and bother for her, the author just didnt feel the need to go in detail about her body.

but still, I was curious. we get the idea she's thin but it only says the Pants flatter her thighs. maybe she is also pear shaped/bottom heavy like Alexis Bledel?

Are you sure you're thinking of the right actress? I don't think Alexis Bledel is pear-shaped or bottom heavy by any stretch of the imagination. She's a very petite woman and if anything, the thinnest body type of the group.

she is very pear shaped, just not cartoonishly or sexily pear shaped like kim kardashian or whatever, is all. when i get a chance later i will post a pic but you can google pics of her in a swimsuit or even a tightdress.
and not to sound impolite but what does her being thin or petite have to do with it? also, blake def. looked skinniest to me. but it was so hard to tell since Lena always dressed a bit frumpy.

I've wondered this before, too. But in the beginning of the book Carmen says Lena's feet are "the only part of her that isn't perfect," and later in the series Lena's looking at herself in the mirror before modeling for Leo, and it says she isn't awkwardly built.

I think she's probably supposed to be slender.

I think Lena's body matches her face and personality. Very feminine. Alexis Bledes has very soft features and striking eyes and her body is very feminine, with quite prominent hips. It matches Lena's girly, but subtle personality.

I think it's mostly like you said, because most of her stress about her looks is based around her face, and how, even though it's beautiful, she kind of hates it because she doesn't like the attention it draws.
