The monsters were once people???

The movie starts off with a cool prologue but immediately dives into cliche and poor filmmaking. The dumbest part was that the monsters were once people? So if you stay in the cave long enough, you’ll transform into a flying bat dragon? I get the parasite makes your DNA adapt to the cave environment, but why would it transform you into an entirely different species? How long does that take: days, weeks, months, 30 years? We never even see anyone transform, and that’s a let down because whenever you reveal people turn into creatures in a movie, you HAVE to show off the transformation special effects. Imagine American Werewolf In London with no transformation scene; you’d be disappointed. The whole DNA thing bares zero significance to the plot and could be edited out like nothing. The ending also tries so hard to be such a zinger, but it’s just hilariously bad. They obviously were trying to make a movie like The Thing but they didn’t know how to make it good. 2/10
