Denny Crane is like a Republican wet dream

Denny Crane is like a stupid liberal's version of a Republican wet dream.

Kelley, I think, thought he was being "balanced" by adding Denny Crane -- a dementia-ridden cartoon of a conservative -- so there would be at least one "conservative" voice on the show. But that's like having a horse race and hocking the fastest horse, "just to make it fair." Couldn't he have written the show with a strong conservative character and still have his "superior" liberal views win? Apparently not.

Oddly enough, the most balanced show was the one about abortion. Of course, choosing to abort the child because it was the wrong sex prevailed.

Of course it was an old-fashioned idea for them to presume the child's gender. 🙄

That's actually one of the things I found so hilarious about this show -- it wouldn't have passed muster under the "new liberalism." Things have changed so much, Kelley made the conservative point in retrospect: Big government is bad; government overreach is bad; weaponizing the "three-letter agencies" is bad. I wonder if Kelley is writing speeches for characters defending all that now that liberals have embraced it. 🤣
