Denise and Marlene

This whole competition bugged the crap out of me, and here's why:

Shortly after Marlene joined the firm, Denise was advised to keep up if she didn't want to get behind, but then everything she did to manipulate situations after that, in her efforts to keep up with Marlene's manipulations, she got in trouble for.

Also, when Marlene was helping Schmidt to defend the professor for having sex with a prostitute, and Denise had the idea that since he filmed it, it was protected under the First Amendment, WHY THE HELL DID SHE TELL MARLENE?!?! It's not like she and Marlene were good friends with a healthy competition between them, and she was comfortable with her and lost her head. She was in direct competition with her and hated her, yet instead of nodding and calmly walking away and going to tell Schmidt herself, she just gives her great idea to Marlene, and then sets off in a dead race to tell it to Schmidt? Stupid.

LOVE this show, but some things were so contrived.

...don't just laugh. Answer the pepperoni.

If by stupid you mean hilarious, then yes. But anyway, Denise told her because they were discussing the case as co-workers and she thought of it. And Denise is kind of impulsive and innocent in her own way.

Regardless, I really liked this rivalry, I thought it was amusing and gave Denise something to do that wasn't romance-related. Was pretty disappointed when Marlene got written out at the beginning of season 3.
