You're right that the correct term is 'poppycock', not 'poopycock', but it wasn't stolen from MASH. MASH may have used the term, but 'they' didn't invent it; it is an ancient word which has been in the lexicon for at least 150 years...

Straight after posting the text above, I coincidentally watched an episode which had that judge in it and he actually said "poopycock" a couple of times! Now I think I have to go back and see whether there were any episodes where he said "poppycock". Stay tuned for more exciting updates...
