Are there any rewards to beating this game on the Hard or Very Hard mode other than pride in having beaten one of the toughest games on the hardest difficulty?

I know you get the original Ninja Gaiden if you find 50 scarabs and get the movie theater option and very hard mode opened after beating it, but I'm curious to know if completing Ninja Gaiden on very hard opens up another movie or alternate ending.

Nope. The closest to that is that if you beat it in very hard you unlock the fiendish Ryu uniform. (Ryu turning blue like in the last chapters).
