You know there is a thin line between Reality and fantasy.

Ryu is a super ninja! He has defeated many monsters and you think a normal person who knows maritial arts can kick his ass? Although, in the real world that guy is awsome!!! He is amazing!!!!

"Yes, dudes and dudettes! Major league butt-kicking is back in town!"

reply

i kinda sorta agree with you babe..... but theres a ninja guy who can cut down more than 10 enemies in midair... and hes in Shinobi in ps2... rikimaru owns all if you favour realism...

That's just one of those dumb espn extreme martial arts type shows where the "performers" don't even hit anything(breaking inanimate objects like bricks don't count btw) and just try to look tough with yelling and cool kick flips. A Muay Thai fighter, even an average one, would be able to kick that Mr."Kata"'s ass. I bet he'd only win a fight in some CHOREOGRAPHED fight scene in some b-martial arts movie.

I'm glad I'm not the only one here who sees the light. Thanks for agreeing with me veni_vidi_vici_bc 21.

I dont think so. In fact, I belive that he would be pretty easy to beat if:
A) The opponent knew what he'd be doing
B) That guy actually fight street fights like that (unlikely though)

And I belive that fighting imaginary opponents, Kata, is good AND bad. It is bad because you wont have any pressure against you as you would in a street fight, and it is good because you dont have to limit yourself to rules or fair fighting.

Nevertheless, the guy still looks cool.
Hayabusa would kick his ass though, a couple of Izuna Otoshis and the guy wouldnt be whirling anymore. Hehe.

reply

Just looking "cool" does not make someone good fighter. I know that's not what you meant Razor but that message was for all those dumb fu**s out there who watch too many movies and espn. In actual Muay Thai rules in Thailand practically anything could go in terms of striking accept low blows, head butts and takedown/grappling maneuvers. So I still think these Kata-loving fu**faces wouldn't stand a chance against, like I said before, even an average Muay Thai fighter. Oh yeah and fu** martial arts movies and point sparring.

i can kung fu ryu hard.... by letting go of the joystick for 2 seconds... BAM GAME OVER!!! RYU, youre one PWNed littol biotch!! or drop him off some high places.. that can be done too...

I AM NOT WORTHY..

Yeah what I meant was that kata can scare the crap out of anyone not knowing martial arts, but someone who has been practising it for a couple of months knows that it is just for showoff. Now about those "kata-loving fu**faces", I'll have to disagree with you on that one, as I am one of those :D
I'm not going to say that it learns you how to streetfight, but there is something about doing kata that I cant really explain.

Besides, I dont even think that was a kata, since the movie was labeled sho-ryu-ken_contest, him doing a shoryuken in the middle of the movie, which is the spinning rising punch, and all of the shotgun sounds and the way he ends it... If that was kata, then it's the one of the stupidest one I've ever seen.

And I have practiced Ninjutsu, Aikido, Karate and Judo so I know what a stupid kata looks like :D

PS. Without martial arts movies we wouldnt have Jeet Kune Do. DS

reply

Ryu would own him. The guy is just fancy with his moves. Ever play DoA? Ryu would own his ass.
