Style.

Can someone comment on the style of the photography of this film? It's a very, very bleak setting when it comes to the look of the film, e.g. the weather is always gray as are the interiors in the offices. Must be on purpose but the film has a "TV movie" look to my eyes, also looks like it was shot in the 90's, which I liked for a change the film did take place in 2001, right? I'm curious about the aesthetic because it's so unusual for this sort of film.

Good post. I was struck by this film as well. For D.C. they did portray the weather as 'wintry'. And there were multiple references to an office 'with a window'...kind of reinforcing the feel of agents working 'underground' under harsh lighting. I always felt a "lack of fresh air" while watching this excellent movie.

Had me at the first scene. Would rec it to anyone. Cheers...
