There is a book. (READ THIS!)

I got on to a website and found that there is a book called Fierce People and it is the same as the movie. Except there's some surprising details about the book. This is what I found about the book:

Life among the rich and twisted proves to be a difficult road to adulthood for young Finn Earl in Wittenborn's lurid and often bizarre coming-of-age yarn, which begins when the adolescent's unstable mother, Liz, a New York City massage therapist, befriends a rich older client named Osborne. The friendship looks like a good deal when Osborne rescues the pair from poverty, spiriting them away to his estate in the elite New Jersey suburb of Vlyvalle. Finn gets a romantic bonus when he falls for Osborne's sexy granddaughter, Maya; he also befriends her odd but erudite brother, Bryce. But the dark side of easy street surfaces when Finn is attacked and raped by an unknown assailant, and his romance comes apart at the seams when Maya catches him in flagrante with the family maid. The novel turns downright strange during a pivotal house fire when Finn is hailed as a hero after tumbling from a window with Maya's mother, who survives the blaze despite some serious injuries. Finn's part-time job sorting through Osborne's extensive photo library provides several clues about the possible identity of his attacker, and the underbelly of the Osborne clan gets exposed in a big way during a series of confrontations among Finn, Bryce, Maya and her grandfather. Wittenborn offers plenty of unusual spins on the usual coming-of-age formula, and his eclectic, idiosyncratic characters provide plenty of entertainment. Some overplotting in the final sections dulls the impact of the over-the-top ending, but this peek behind the scenes of a wealthy family remains novel and fascinating from start to finish

I knew there was a book! I ordered it about a week ago, but I havn't read it yet. If you go to www.fiercepeople.com - there is abit about it - thats where i found out about it. But your summary of what its about is so much different than all of the other ones i have seen! In the summary for the movie, it says that the mother is attacked? I wonder how different the movie will be to the book..

I also heard that the mother was the one attack, but then I read somewhere that it really is the son that gets attacked. I think that in the book the boy Finn is much older, because it says that Maya walks in on Finn and the family maid having sex. Do you think that they might put that in the movie?

In the book Finn is supposed to be 15, and same with Maya. He get caught having sex with the maid, who is only like 17

I finished reading the book last week, it was great.

In the book Finn got caught sleeping with Jilly the maid, they were always getting high together. Jilly and Finn were both in need of some comforting and found it through each other. Jilly was the first to hear that Finn was raped, this is the attack they reference in book. Maya walked in on them and it was never the same with the two of them ever since. It's a great book.

I know I read the book too . It will be weird seeing young actors playing these roles

I've read the book and I'm confused about what I see here on the imdb.com site. Are they making big plot changes or is the information here just not up to snuff yet? Very confused...

Go to that site - it tells you a bit about the movie and shows you some filming.

I think it really SUCKS if Liz is getting ravaged instead of NAMBLAing Finn, even though he is more innocent. Theyre treating post-Unfaithful Diane like the late Margaux Hemingway in Lipstick, having her ravaged b/c she's eye candy! I even saw an unofficial poster for it with her in a low-cut dress, and the caption "behind beautiful things lies danger".

I didnt read the book or obviously see the movie, but Wittenborn's ruining it if he does this. "I wanted to lose my virginity but not like this!" Black humor, but precious.

DL is a great actress, tres sexy and a really nice lady. this is one of the few sites I as a Yank have seen where this is even discussed.

and WHY are they delaying the release almost one YEAR?? Lane made it before "Must Love Dogs" and THAT's getting released in August. Christmas Eve wouild have been good Oscar/Globe bait for the film.

bookshelves fall on Liz she has loud sex with lots of boyfriends, she snorts coke. Poor Diane always a victim.

again I hope theyre not ruining everything..

wish they just had in in print. With Real Player at least with my dialup it not only takes forever to load but seems to have to be reloaded each time!

Is there another way of viewing the clip? My Real Player isn't working.
