Oscar Buzz

I haven't seen the film yet, since it hasn't been released here in the United States yet, but I've started reading the book and it seems like if the actors really pulled off the characters (as well as the script & plot being up to par), then this film seems like it'll be awards-worthy.

Just wondering for those of you who've seen the film, do you consider any of the leads (Diane Lane, Donald Sutherland, Anton Telchin, Chris Evans, Kristen Stewart) turned in an amazing performance?

Since the film has been moved from a July to September 2007 release date, it's now in a awards-consideration season spot.

If this film is able to break out of the limited release market, then perhaps it has a chance.

I really hope it does.

DIANE LANE was astonishing in this film. When she confronts DONALD SUTHERLAND's character her acting gave me goosebumps!

Definately Oscar calibre

DIANE LANE was amazing as always! She deserves every kind of award there is and I really hope this film gets the recognition it so greatly deserves and hopefully it won't get ignored or overlooked which sadly happens way too much with truly incredible films and performances.

It seems this movie could do a lot of god things not only for Lane; infact some Evans fans are posting some ads on the web claiming he should be nominated as best supporting actor. At this point I'm quite curious...

Diane Lane and Chris Evans were infinitely watchable, but Donald Sutherland deserves an oscar,

There was a game on AwardsDaily.com, so here's a FYC ad for Chris Evans:

I just finished watching the movie for the first time.

Chris Evans turns in the best work he has ever done. I don't know if I would call it Oscar worthy but it was quite good. His character in this movie is way different than any other character that he has ever played. I'd like to see him in more roles like this in the future rather than the sort of 'happy go lucky' characters that I usually see him play.

Diane Lane was excellent, as always.

But Anton Yelchin and Donald Sutherland carry most of the film. Yelchin does a really good job (again, as always) playing Finn. You really feel for him in this movie. Sutherland steals the show. This, I think, is one of the best performances he has ever given. Whomever did the casting did a really good job because Sutherland is perfect in his role and he plays it just right.

Oscar for what? Most misguided screenplay?
