What terrible cover art. I hate when studios change awesome original posters into cheesy-looking DVD covers.

The problem, for better or worse, is that the company which puts out the DVD is often not the same as the one which put out the movie. Once it is in the hands of a different distributor, they pretty much start from scratch with artwork. Even if it is the same "company," it is still a different division. The home video distribution arms of the studios have their own marketing teams and will not necessarily pay attention to what was done for the theatrical release.

they put whatever would help catch someone's attention, like putting the two biggest actors in the film on the cover in a wierd and bad nphotoshop looking way. the cover sucks. but that didnt keep me from buying it and enjoying the film. it was pretty good. not the masterpiece some people have said it to be, but really good nonetheless.
shareI agree with you, the cover art looks like a romance novel, and a bad one at that. What happened to the stellar yellow one on their IMDB website? I would have loved to seen that one on the DVD.
