In IMDb standards, 8.2 is actually a very high score.

shareIf i didn't know where it was on the 250 I would guess top 60 or 70. It's a great film, it's fairly famous, it's 'cultured' so a lot of people will rate it highly. It's got everything.

Maybe, but Depp wouldn't have been anywhere near as believable as a Frenchman and that, I think, is the far more important point in this role, particularly given how much the role is dialogue dominant.

The vast majority of IMDB users are stupid people from every country, not only america. There are idiots all over the world who have an internet connection and vote on imdb that's what makes them a majority...
