The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007)
Rewatched it after a year, and it remains a truly extraordinary achievement. It is a film to experience, not merely to watch. Really happy that Schnabel got that Directing nomination at the Oscars. The cinematography is also really stunning! Damn, 2007 was a very strong year for cinematography, any of the 5 nominees could have won it (Atonement, Assasination of Jesse James, No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood, and Diving Bell)
What I also like about the film is that, while it could have turned into a depressing serious film, it manages to have an uplifting and imaginative tone throughout, which was definetely the right way to go.
