what do you guys think?

reply

I loved the movie as well. Couldn't stop laughing.

Comparing it to another comedy "The Wedding Crasher", which I just saw, Ice Harvest is much funnier.

someone who can't spell and someone who compares this kind of movie to wedding crashers... shows what kind of fans this movie has
I'm not saying it was bad, nothing special though

reply

First of all, poetic license is given for spelling and grammatical errors on the internet. Second, the jokes on Wedding Crasher were stale and the plot predictable.

First, there was nothing "poetic" about that garble.

Second, how are you supposed to take anyone's opinion seriously when they don't have the want and/or the ability to put together a coherant sentence?

I give no "poetic license." Really, how hard is it to put together a few sentences people can actually understand? I don't think that's asking much.

Maybe you should take into account that a) English is not everybody's first language, b) some people have learning disabilities that make it difficult for them to spell, c) for others, there are more important things than spelling perfectly on an internet message board and above all d) anyone who wastes there time with a spelling flame has nothing new to contribute.

What does that say about you?

And I hope the guy that said it is better than Wedding Crashers is right... just watched that predictable 4 hour movie last night.

reply

If you could not understand what he was saying, then you are truly dense.

People come on here to have fun - not to have some silly grammar teachers correcting them for grammar and spelling errors. People write quickly and often make silly grammar and spelling mistakes.

Get over it.

Ahem, you spelled coherent wrong.

this movie was absolutely terrible. First off, I dont even think it was meant to be a comedy. It seemed to me that this was meant to be a film noir but the script got into the hands of an icompetent director like Harold Ramis. Then the studio marketed it as if it were actually a dark comedy. I didnt laugh once at this lousy mess

reply

Me neither. Not a single funny line. And I LOVE dark comedy. But this was just...well nothing, hell I don't even know, one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life. I hate it.

A "nice guy" who is neverthless morally bereft of all principals, save for having never killed anyone, finally gets it all together when he finds the balls to kill.

For me, that's FIRST-RATE COMEDY!

reply

I thought the film was fantastic, but not because of its comedy. It's really more of a morbid sort of film noir than a comedy. The beautiful cinematography and intriguing characters were the highlight for me.

I agree, this movie was really funny, I will always remember this one.

I loved it. Loved every bit of it. I thought it was hilarious, subtle, and despite the bleak setting, I walked away satisfied. Beautifully shot.

Also: The stripper with the black eye and the way the strip joints were portrayed were accurate and funny. Oftentimes in movies strip clubs look like little slices of heaven (I'm thinking "Closer" - clean little room and a stripper that looks like Natalie Portman - er) but I think this movie looked at it without rose-tinted lenses. And it was funny.

And I thought John Cusack was hot, but, er, that's not relevant.
