Weren't those bills in the duffel bag some kind of weird denomination?

I'm thinking that whoever got away with all that money, they were probably in for a tough time trying to dispose of the money, or convert it into a more liquid asset, since it appeared that all the bills were some sort of weird non-typical denomination (not your standard 20's, 50's or even 100-dollar bills). It would have been difficult for Cusack to take that bag to a bank and deposit all that cash, and certainly would have been nearly impossible for him to spend it at the local 7-11 or Safeway or WalMart store, no? Serious questions and investigations would have been initiated. Bank tellers and cashiers are on alert to notify authorities whenever someone is negotiating large bills or large sums of money that look, well, not quite cricket.

Just something to think about the next time you make off with somebody else's money to the tune of 2 million dollars. lol

They all said '100' on the bills, with a picture of Benjamin franklin. - so not so weird. It would have been weird if they were $500, $1000, $5000, $10,000 or $100,000 as they were all retired in 1969. Personally on my visits to the states $20 bills were found hard to change but that was a few years back. Although at the end of the day I always had a pocketful of coins which were good for nothing. 'Bout time they dumped the dollar note and made a more durable metal dollar coin it would be worth bringing out a handful of change to pay for things then.

Remember, you don't have to be smart if you can pretend to be someone else who is...

You're right about the large denomination bills, I stand corrected. (Interesting link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_denominations_of_United_States_curr ency)

It just seemed to me that none of those bills looked at all like the $100 bill with Ben Franklin on it, so I thought the bundle of money in the duffle bag comprised the higher denomination bills. I did not know that those bills had since been discontinued!

Never mind, this time next year they'll all be euros anyway. Or maybe renminbi.
