I recently rented 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' and enjoyed it immensly. I also enjoy 'Gross Pointe Blank', 'Lock Stock...' and 'Pulp Fiction'. Now, I certainly don't expect this to be anywhere near as good as 'Pulp Fiction', but my question is, "Is this, at least, a decent crime comedy?" Just looking for opinions and I'm afraid of clicking on other topics, for fear of spoilers.
I like all the movies you mentioned and I liked this movie. Especially, if you liked Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, I'd say that you most definitely like this movie for they aren't very different from each other.
7/10 for Pulp Fiction?! Wow you're crazy, that was the movie that started it all! Yes I know it's slightly overrated, but it is definitely one of the greatest films of our time. Can't believe you would think a film like Grosse Point is better either...

personally liked this one a great deal, but gotta say its nowhere near as comedic as kiss kiss bang bang, that was funny and they knew they were funny--ie they meant for everything to be funny. here i don't think the things that they meant to be funny either were funny, but there was definitely some moments of humor here. but yeah this one's waaaay darker then kiss kiss. still waaay worth seeing though. Cusack kicks ass as a noir everyman. this man should have won an oscar or at least have been nominated for something by now. he's def got the chops to do something extraordinary that will leave critcs speechless, and prob will sooner or later.
(I also love Grosse Pointe Blank better than Pulp Fiction--Pulp may be better made, and an electric jolt of energy that more than a decade later people are still trying to copy, but GPB is pure fun, and more than that has a consistantly funny and deadpan tone, and even sustains its plot for the entire time without relying on gimmciks or out of nowhere random humor or whatever. for a comedy that's nearly mission impossible especially with most of the comedies that come out these days.--If anything Pulp might have reawakened a genre but if you take a look at most comedies that have been coming out since the beginning of movies, a well done comedy may be the hardest thing to pull off, and pull off well.)
Wow you must be describing a different movie because that isn't how I remember PF or GPB. Relying on "gimmicks or random humor"? I don't think we saw the same movie. Must I remind you PF wasn't a comedy? That's what your making it sound like compared to GPB. You're comparing two totally different genres of film. Also, Pulp Fiction is the type of movie they analyze in film school not GPB. Gee I wonder why that is? Overrated, maybe. Better than Gross Point Blank? no F-ing question...

If you want a bleak noir thriller with a few touches of dark humor, then definitely see this. If you want a buddy-comedy or a caper film or something, then this isn't it.
