Only 6.2?

The movie is a brilliant film noir, rooted in reality though, with desperate characters way over their head in plots and schemes they conceived but that they are just unable to bring to an end. The acting is great especially from John Cusack and Oliver Platt.
Overall, one of the most underrated movies of 2005.

I totally agree!!! 100% I love this movie, its so great!!! There are a lot like it if you see my post in the best/worst '05 under The Ice Harvest, I think there are some hidden gems that were clearly overlooked by the masses who were more pleased by special effects, cgi, and feel good movies!

i know, as if it's only a 6.2. simply doesnt make any sense. i mean, critics liked it, i liked it.. you liked it, so why only a 6.2? i expected it to be at least a 7.5.

I thought it was really good too. I was surprised top see all the complaining about it. But I'm not surprised that the complaints are mostly about stupid stuff like Kansas isn't really like that, it was too much like Fargo, etc.

Indeed, it was very well done. I just think it's too dark to appeal to the masses. Another thread talks about the great quotes. The writing is what really carried it, but great performances and directing were evident.

I think you are all missing that this movie completely sucks.

It feels like 85 minutes of improv by actors who would clearly rather be somewhere else.

The best thing that can be said about The Ice Harvest is that it isn't very long.
