How did Yuri get the connection towards weaponry in the beginning to start his business?
shareHe got that first Uzi through a connection at his synagogue. When he was in that building with piles of M16s that the military left behind, I can only assume that it was through working his way up the ranks of different people he had sold to in the past.
shareLike any other business, I imagine he worked his way up. He bought his first gun off somebody, but the smart salesman says to that person "Okay, I want to go on a bigger scale than you can handle, so who do YOU buy from?" and then steps up to deal with that person. They repeat that, working his way up the chain gradually.
He also got a good leg up when that Russian general turned out to be a family member. That probably helped a lot.
