shareI've watched the film a few times and always understood that he would be accepted back in to the family. But this time it seemed more ambiguous, she looked up with tears and sadness and he looked scared that he'd lost it all. It's funny how the same scene can seem so different on separate viewings.
shareAnd a note to myself after watching the DVD extras, it is supposed to be ambiguous but the last line of the shooting script is - There's Hope.
So I guess there is?
