absolute crap, not as a movie -- even to DOA fans

1. who the crap is max?
2. kasumi should have been hotter
3. the characters with realistic moves who could actually hold their own in a fight (who dont fly around defying physics) were given very little screen time.

4.the way bayman lost was stupid -- was it supposed to be funny? wow he got hit in the crotch... how original, i didnt even get to see him twist any arms/legs. his accent was terribly done (in the one line he had) as if they got a turkish guy, burnt his toungue and had him try his worst russian accent.

5. since most of the guys were ripped as hell, the only way they could keep the girls (and max) in the fights was to have the guys miss EVERY SINGLE punch, kick, headbutt. does anyone actually believe that would happen?

LOL, that reply was priceless!

(i hope you were kidding by the way)

"Never, ever try to be funny in my presence again Percy."

Exactly. Martial arts and hot women is pretty much the selling point of the DOA series.

Well I for one agree with victor. I'm a huge fan of DOA and it just rubbed me the wrong way. I had a problem with some of the characters as well. Some of the characters we're not even holding true to their true identities. A.) Why in the world was Helena using She-qua? Who the heck is max? Christie's way to approachable. I'm sorry but I feel like they just rushed into it and tried to make a plot of just any old idea. Yes, there are hot girls, cleavage, and great action sequences to which I can appreciate, but without a good storyline and believable characterization (espcialy being based off of a game) It just doesn't satisfy. If i weren't a DOA fan or if it were not for DOA, then I'd probably like it a lot more.

Awesome fight scenes though

This movie was one of my favorites. It satisfied everything a video game fan could dream of.

I think Mortal Kombat(the 1st one) did, but not this one.

If hot women is the selling point what happened with #2 - Kasumi should have been played by a much hotter well endowed actress. That is what DOA is all about. I liked the chick playing Ayane but the wig sucked.

Lei Fang needed more screen time!

"Lei Fang needed more screen time"

Thank you, I'm so glad I'm not the only one that agrees to that. She was apart of the original cast before Christie and Helena even came to be. Helena would be an exception because she is a key character to the plot.

To the OP:

1. Max was only official to the film, just like Weatherby, and the guy who gets killed by Goro in Mortal Kombat.

2. I think Kasumi would have been hotter, since it was just for eye candy. That Japanese girl..I think her name was Megumi...could have been a way better choice. Megumi is this gravure model, who they show on some of those Cinematech: Nocturnal Emission episodes. Her figure is a lot like Kasumi's.

3. I thought about that too. But some characters didn't do much, like Jann Lee.

4. I agree on Bayman's situation, too. Bayman in the game is actually smarter than the film Bayman. Way smarter.

5. There were situations where Leon grabs and throws Kasumi to another corner in the room, but that was pretty much it, and Zack hits Tina, too.
