Wow .. this movie could have been so good, if it had been taken seriously ... but it's really not AS bad as some people made it out to be ... I mean this can't be compared to mortal kombat ...
I actually went here first so I thought this movie was going to be the 4.9/10 I saw ... it's actually a 6 by imdb standards .. + it wasn't made out to be a big movie or anything so .. that's that
Yeah i totally agree with you, i think people took this film to much to heart. doa isn't meant to be a serious life and death, end of the world type scenerio unlike mortal kombat was etc.
The movie could have been better, but overall i loved the movie aswell, shame it didn't do to well at the boxoffice etc.
This movie had potential--if only it didn't take a lot of liberties into changing a few things around, as far as the characters were concerned.
I've realized there have been a lot of changes done to some of the cooler characters: like Christie, who is supposed to be a cold-hearted assassin and not some thief whose on in the tournament to pull off a hiest.
Even though I understand that there were some liberties to done as far as working up a storyline for the movie since some people who play the games claims that there isn't much of an story in games, but there should've been something more done to the movie then just "girl power" and all of that.
But, nonetheless about the gripes, I found the movie to be fun to watch, yet campy all the same.
