A similar movie 'Let me in'

Not usually one to do this, but I just wanted to point out a movie that I recently saw that's similar to BTT, it's called Let Me In (not to be confused with the 2008 swedish version), with Chloe Moretz Grace as Abby. Came out somewhat recently (2010), based on a book as well. LMI and BTT are similar in the fact that the main focus of the plot is a growing friendship between a young boy and girl. However, it's "horror/intense/I have no clue, scary maybe?", while BTT is "fantasy", but with that said, that movie was somewhat falsely advertised (same as BTT), as the horror in the movie is somewhat limited (it's gory though). But despite the completely different genre's, the movies have so many similarities when it comes to the two main characters, I was amazed. I almost felt like I was watching a "horror" version of BTT, just with a different setting and plot (and chars obv lol). I won't lie, the first 10-15 mins or so are somewhat boring though.

Not saying you ABSOLUTELY MUST! see it or anything, i'm just putting it out there, because that movie ranks just a notch below BTT for me. Or, maybe you've seen it already and thought it sucked (or liked the other one better); either way, I just wanted to share it in case anyone else was interested.

I do concur that Let Me In (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1228987/) is a movie worth seeing and that it has similarities to BtT. Oddly, both films turned out to be nothing of what I really expected from the trailers, but that's another topic.

Anywho.... I will go beyond your mention of friendship and say both stories make a point about open-mindedness, and how that can lead to some unexpected but great friendships and experiences a person may otherwise try to avoid. And yes, even if that results in some terrible things at times.

I've seen both movies and I agree there are definate similarities in both story and characters. Owen and Abby do feel a bit like a shadowy version of Jesse and Leslie.

Bridge actually reminded a lot of Gold Diggers. I mean, strongly.
