Maybe they could afford new shoes if they weren't buying name brand groceries and just had generic organge juice and cereal.

In addition, maybe if they did something totally radical and responsible, like only having the amount of children they could actually afford.

Maybe just using an antenna if they could get TV reception, or at most paying for basic cable instead of paying for premium channel packages that include the Disney Channel. The difference in one month on most cable services could pay for one pair of sneakers.
