The ending reminds me of Ed Wood (spoilers)

You know, Ed Wood (1994). Anyone remembers when Ed Wood and the crew are going to shoot the rest of a scene and the crew warn Ed that he can't continue the scene because it was already night and they started shooting at noon? It would ruin continuity. Ed did the scene anyway. That movie was hilarious.

Well, I have the feeling that the same happened in the final scene of Assault on Precinct 13 (2005). They are in the woods and it is completely dark. So dark that Markus' guys needed nightshot to see Roenick and Bishop. In 5-10 minutes everything is done. Markus' and his guy are dead, Bishop gets away and Roenick is rescued by Iris and the firefighters, that take him out of the woods to reveal a bright and shining sun. (hey, funny, they were the woods and they did the Wood's mistake)

I know you are saying that the transition from night to day appears to occur quickly, but I don't think that we see real time onscreen. I think we are expected to believe that more time occurred during the hunt that we don't see. I've seen the film a number of times and that transition has never appeared "hilarious" to me.

They kept saying how the sun was coming up soon and it didn't haha.
