Reappearing character
When a new programme 'spins off' from an existing one, it is natural that some characters re-locate from the one to the other. For the sake of continuity, it also helps if the same actor continues in the role. Sometimes, as in the case of 'parallel' series such as Casualty and Holby City, regular characters from either will have little cameo appearances in the other. Nothing so very unusual there.
But what about this? Did anybody notice in Bodies that the character Paul Tennant, the obnoxious hospital 'suit' (played by Nicholas Palliser) had also appeared ten years earlier, also as an obnoxious hospital 'suit' (and also played by Nicholas Palliser!), in Cardiac Arrest???
Unlike Casualty and Holby City, I don't think there's any connexion at all between Cardiac Arrest and Bodies, is there? EXCEPT, of course, for the fact that they were both written by Jed Mercurio.
How positively bizarre, to bring the same actor back to play the same character ten years later, in a completely different life! It's like the real world, where people move house and change jobs but remain the same person!
