I guess its not racist cause its a black man saying it. So you know..Its ok.
But if the roles were reversed and it was a white man saying " I was so stupid they picked the black kids before me" we would hear how racist and hateful it is.

The OP is right. If the lines had been from a white character who proclaimed his ignorance based on black kids getting picked first, it would be labeled a horribly racist line and people would boycott this movie.
I'm so tired of white people having to be apologists just because they're white.
