Another rushed through garbage remake from a classic in the long line of garbage remakes.
Garbage remakes, 1. The Longest Yard 2. Psycho 3. The Bad news Bears 4. Another 48 Hrs - Garbage remake that thinks its a sequel. 5. The Taking Of Pelham 1-2-3 6. Poseidon 7. The In-Laws 8. The Mean Machine - another garbage remake of the Longest Yard 9. Rollerball 10. The Stepford Wives
I agree with your entire list....except for this film.
Some of the best football action in a movie, ever. Its nice to see a cast of former athletes that know what they're doing. Even Sandler had a decent release playing QB. Take this movie with a grain of salt....it's an Adam Sandler movie. The original was a classic, I'm not arguing that. It had it's athletes as well with Burt Reynolds and Ray Nitschke as well as others I'm sure that i am not familiar with.
While in no way a cinematic masterpiece, this has a few good one-liners, some good laughs, and an entertaining cast. and as i said before, some of the best football action ever in a movie.
Oh, and Brian Bosworth is the man.
Marewidge! Marewidge is whhat bwings us togebbar...today!
Yeah cause that's what matters most in a supposed comedy - the football action. Who gives a flying f--k when you are so cringed out from the awful jokes that you just want it to end before you have too many suicidal thoughts about the poor life decisions you make such as wasting time watching this pathetic film. Sheldon Turner should be ashamed of it and should stay far away from comedy.
I disagree. In the world of remakes, this one is pretty good, and I am a rabid fan of the original. I originally protested a remake, and it took a good while before I finally saw this one. Am glad I did.
