They made to Lucinda's character?

In the book she beats Sam to death, she's dangerous and ruthless. I wish they'd kept it like that instead of making her so sad that some people actually feel bad for her.

I think it would have been a much better role for Jennifer Aniston to play an evil ruthless woman in this movie but I don't know if she could have pulled it off and it would not have had the hollywood ending.
