One of the dumbest movies I've ever seen (spoilers)

Here's why, quickly, in 3 points and lots of spoilers:

1. Charles paid over $130000 to cover up an affair that didn't come to fruition. He gave away the money that could save his kid in order to protect his marriage. How on Earth did he think his wife would react when she finds out about it? Did he really think she would be more ok with that than with his petty adultery attempt?

2. After their scam, the thieves return to the EXACT same places where they did the previous one: the station, the restaurant, the hotel. What kind of dumb thieves would do that? Anyone with half a brain would leave town presto.

3. Her insisting on not reporting the rape made little to no sense as the movie progressed. Why everything had to be so hush-hush, even after he (why just him?) was being blackmailed and threatened at his home? The way they behaved, you'd think the two of them had committed murder.

There were many more, but these stood out for me. Pathetic screenplay!

Since when are movies supposed to be realistic?

And you're forgetting the oh-so-convenient 4. His briefcase just happens to be in the exact same hotel they were in to pull the exact same scam on a different man and the exact same amount of money was in this briefcase too so he just gets everything in the end. 2 of the baddies are dead, the main ones in prison, he gets out of the hotel without the detective noticing him and he gets all his money back! Hurray for him!

The fact that we're supposed to believe Clive Owen can't defend himself against 130 LB Vincent Cassel is the dumbest part of it.
