South Park did scenes in one episode in anime style. They didn't change the visuals of the show to anime as you've suggested for Family Guy and American Dad.
Now if you're actually suggesting another artistic style for a dream montage or fantasy sequence in an episode of American Dad like Family Guy did for Road to the Multiverse, well that's a different story.

All you suggested was changing American Dad animation style to that of Anime. Doing that would be pointless. Using the reasons you gave on the Family Guy board, it wouldn't make the plots better, the jokes better, the characters' interactions and relationships better. It wouldn't improve the show in any way shape or form.
It's not as though you were suggesting making Francine's dress blue or Stan's suit dark green, you're suggesting, again for no reason, making a 180 degree change in the look of American Dad. It's just futile.
It wouldn't be the same show. Just as Powerpuff Girls Z isn't the same show as its American namesake.

When Jeff was added back to the show people complained and you want to completely alter the fundamental visual style of the series. It's just a dumb idea.
How is turning American cartoons into anime a bad idea? Just use your imagination and inferences to visualize how it will turn out.

Because the five examples I gave on the Family Guy board were visually awful [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Anime][https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powerpuff_Girls_Z] and there's no reason to think American Dad as anime wouldn't look equally terrible.
