They've confused this show with the "meta-show" or "show within a show."

The castlist, for instance -- where is Garth Marenghi?

Holness does not play Rick Dagless, he plays Garth Marenghi.

Garth plàys Dagless--- so when we see Dagless that is Holness playing Marenghi playing Dagless.

This needs a LOT of straightening out, so people who've not seen it get a better understanding that it is a mockumentary series, a retrospective of a TV show that never existed.

The difficulty there would be crediting irl actors who play in-world characters who weren't given in-world actor names. For many roles, saying the irl actor plays the in-world character is the only way to do it. So the options are to either do it that way for everyone or be inconsistent.

In another way of looking at it, Holness plays both Garth Marenghi AND Rick Dagless.

The IMDb classification system is in need of a serious revamp. I mean, web series are classified as "TV series".

Originality needs a reboot.
