Well...the building that WAS the Foo Mart, anyway.

A co-worker was viewing the news on facebook. I saw the phrase "Corner Gas" in the top right hand corner. I thought it may have had to do with the new movie coming out.

A building used in the popular CTV sitcom 'Corner Gas' was destroyed by fire Sunday evening.

The single-storey structure, which doubled as the ‘Foo Mar T’ supermarket in the TV show, went up in flames at around 5 p.m. Sunday in Rouleau, Sask. The building had been converted into an orthotic and prosthetic manufacturing facility.

“The building is completely gone,” said Rouleau Mayor Grant Clarke.

Sad day, indeed.

Who is this Grant Clarke guy? Why didn't they get a comment from Fitzy?

I had heard (albeit VERY unofficially) that Fitzy declined to comment because he had not heard of the Foo Mart being used anything else but a grocery store.

That Grant Clarke guy must have been filling in for Fitzy.
