When I got on twitter earlier today & I saw the #1 Trending topic iN Canada was Janet Wright, I just knew what it was going to be.
Such an amazing character, and Janet worked for years here in Vancouver in theatre even after the show ended.
I planned several times to go meet her after 1 of the plays she directed, even as recently as this past summer... but always procrastinated.
I did meet her once when the cast was here for the Gemini Awards back during its peak.
Rest In Peace, Emma.
I always knew that Brent Butt (one of eight main cast members and creator of Corner Gas) was a Saskatchewan native, which is the location of the fictitious Dog River from the Corner Gas television program and movie. But I just found out that both Janet Wright and Eric Peterson (two other main cast members of Corner Gas) were also natives of Saskatchewan.

I had a sad feeling it wouldn't be long given how incapacitated she seemed during the movie. Given how sweet everyone said she was definitely makes it all the worse. RIP, Janet.
