Did the dog die?

After freeing the dog at the beginning of the game, he showed up during the first El Gigante fight and distracted it for me . I was so busy trying to kill El Gigante that I didnt see what happened to the dog. Did he get killed? :(

Ha! I always wondered what happened to that dog too. No, he didn't die, but he just disappears after the El Gigante fight.

I thought the dog appeared AGAIN after the fight with El Gigante. He walks into the fog and then the monster dogs pop out, implying he was killed. I never saw the body though.

He survived long enough to pass his genes along to what is now Dogmeat and his puppies in Fallout 3.

Yeah the dog dies. I knifed him while he was still in the bear trap!
