oh, luis

i grew quite attached to that man. in a gaming sort of way, anyway. the real clincher was the fight in the cabin while ashley hid in the wardrobe upstairs. he gave me an incendiary grenade, asked if i was okay and told me he owed me one. when he died, i know some people think leon's "LUIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" was a little over the top for some forgetful spanish jerk you've known for a few hours, but i could totally feel his pain. why did luis have to die? why?!

Luis was such a piece of dog sh!t. There were simply no redeeming qualities about him. He was sleazy and obviously very manipulative. Oh, and a coward. AND not nearly as good of a shot as he pretended to be (pretty sure I killed just about all of the NOT-zombies in that cabin on my own). Capcom basically forced his character in to the game because they don't have the balls to do anything harmful to their "main" characters, and they needed somebody to kill. You could have plugged anybody in to his role (Steve/Carlos?!) and the same garbage would have happened.

Oh yeah, and the idea that Luis was some kind of researcher is total baloney. Like that fairy-loser could have a shred of scientific/biological knowhow! He just kind of mentioned it offhand (yay he's relevant!) and then never backs it up...or rather, CAPCOM never substantiated it. Ooooh he has a sample though?!? Blow me.
