RE4 was a great game but the plot was probably the worst

Not the story you follow in the game, it was actually pretty fun, but the way Leon randomly faces a different kind of outbreak totally unrelated to Umbrella's viruses, I mean if he was sent to investigate the "Las Plagas" it would've made sense, but he came for a totally different reason and it makes it seem far-fetched.

Also the way Saddler wanted to keep Ashley to get money was stupid, why didn't he just let Leon rescue her and bring her home, he had no knowledge of her having a parasite, their plan would have worked and he would have controlled the president.

Also the villains were ridiculous for a RE game, that Elf Salazar, why would they put and Elf on a RE game? he is an Elf, look at his ears. And the way they dressed they looked like characters from Lord of The Rings or something.

I love the crazy ass plot in this game. You go on a normal rescue mission only to find yourself being hunted down by crazed villagers, then you make it to the castle and it feels like you've fallen into Medieval times because you're suddenly dealing with cultists walking around aimlessly murmuring weird *beep* to themselves, then you go to a whole other island where you have to deal with type of some zombified-military (including these tall bald guys wearing spikes for shoulder and knee-pads.) And characters like Salazar just further add to the eccentric nature of the game.

All that said, this isn't a Resident Evil game. What was the point of including this plot into the series when it's so different from the others that you could literally change only but a few small things and literally have it be a brand new horror game that could stand on it's own without having any relation to the RE franchise?

Exactly, if it wasn't for Leon and Ada being in it, this would have been a totally different game. I know they show Wesker but he was included in Ada's mini game only.

I mean, I love this game, I still play it, in fact I think I was playing it the day(or the day before) I posted this Thread, but I find it hard to believe Salazar exist in the same universe as William Birkin or Jill Valentine, like when I play RE2 for instance, I can't believe Lord Saddler exist in the same fictional universe

and although a lot of people disliked RE5, I love the fact that the story does have to do with RE

THE PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTER'S BEEN KIDNAPPED! IT'S UP TO US!!!

The plot is really generic, it really sounds like one of those plots taken from action movies, president's daughter is kidnapped and a special agent is sent to rescue her.

"Valley girls giving blowjobs for Louboutins, what you call that? Head over heels?"
