They should have treated their employees better.

The entire crew were forced to attend sensitivity classes.
When the men objected, they were replaced by illegal aliens working for $1.50/hr.

Those men should have done what they were told. No one owes you a job for life, if you treat others with disrespect and harass them, you deserve to get fired.

You just made an even dumber comment. You are ignorant. Outsourcing can mean you get your parts from another company, and it doesn't have to be overseas.

You can outsource your labor from a Staffing company. This can be just one person such as a secretary or accountant, usually when the job won't be permanent or you have a problem filling the position permanently. Or you can outsource large numbers of employees to fill essential jobs that aren't part of your core business, especially when those jobs are high skilled or the company wants to avoid paying them wages and benefits that the company would normally pay.

In the second example, think of all the big oil companies in Houston, instead of hiring I/T (you would say "people who do computers", I love how ignorant people like you say that.... it always makes me think that my colleagues are humping that computers as soon as I leave the server room!) and keeping them trained and hoping that they don't jump ship while they are paying them benefits, they outsource the entire (or parts) of their I/T department. That way they are paying for a "service" and not a wage. The downside of that is it is expensive and you have to worry about people from another company going through your dirty laundry. So the company gets a new prez says that outsourcing is a bad thing, presents a really strong case because they are right, and makes all the I/t jobs in-house. On a side not the next prez will say that outsourcing is a great thing, present a really strong case because he is right and then everyone (except key players) gets a pink slip and they bring in an I/T staffing firm (think Wang global, or Compuware among others).

SO Rocket Richard... if you are going to say that someone said something stupid.... don't say something even more moronic presenting your case, you loser.

In fairness the OP said the factory got outsourced - not certain roles.
