Slightly Hypocritical
The film gets on it's soap box about sexual harrassment, but they didn't miss any opportunities to dress Charlize Theron in tops that show off her breasts.

I don't see what "tops that show off her breasts" has to do with sexual harrassment. Do you mean the filmmakers were selling sex to get an audience?

Just for you empty xj, the definition for hypocrite:
1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings
The film condems the men for treating women like objects (rightfully so), then puts Theron in several shirts that show off her breasts.
You'd think if they look down on men oggling Theron's body they wouldn't allow their camera to do so.
"Push the button, Max!"
You have a problem with reality huh?
All is black or white in your world?
That suggests that men have no control over their actions. Are they like toddlers who see a piece of candy and grab it? I agree that a woman who shows skin is vulnerable to oogling and that's to be expected. People like to look at what attracts them but when rights are violated, it is all on the other person.
sharecan you please do a little research before you falme us i mean it is very offensive and untrue
cuz our majority dont believe in that and never even think that way and if you said that based on experience with a few muslims please remember that we are a about a billion and a half so a few individuals would never tells you how a nation of a billion and a half people think
as to the other crazy thing about punishment
you can easily brows a little and knew that this is not true -yet again-
cuz first of all our religion forbid us from sex outside marriage
so a rape is forbidden as well
and a rapest will be punished by the law which is taking from our quran
that tell us that tell us -on hundred of occasions- to
1-deal with each other and people from other religion with respect and love
2-not to have sex outside marriage

but that is the jihad, not actual muslims.
shareROFLMAO. Hey, whats the name of this "nation" of muslims that has 1.5 billion people? LOL. You are a nutbag.
share"our religion forbid us from sex outside marriage so a rape is forbidden as well"
rape is not sex.
I don't care what any dictionary says.
"Do you agree with the muslims that say, "If a woman dresses that way and shows too much skin then she deserves to be raped"?
So a woman shouldn't be allowed to wear what she wants? Is that what you're saying? Go live in a muslim theocracy, you'd like it over there in the middle east: If a woman gets raped, it is automatically her fault for looking too attractive..."
Why go so far away? They wouldn't need to go outside the USA to see that public sentiment. Religious conservatives everywhere share that same kind of mindset. (Whats it like in the minn. district that elects michelle bachman?) Conservatives here are always lamenting about how those satanic liberals are "ruining the country" by making laws that deal with sexual harassment and equal rights for women, which the cons believe promotes promiscuity. They say the evil liberals are also to blame for "destroying the family model" by making it easier for women to reject their "responsibilities" as a housewife and aquire a man's job, earning a money salary. The movie showed the exten
t of how it was when a conservative community applied their mores to "keep the wimmin in their place". Muslims just haven't been liberalized yet - but progress is inevitable for them too, once they grow their own middle class. Social progress is coming to iran faster than the mullahs can handle - damn those satanic liberals!

"Do you agree with the Muslims that say, "If a woman dresses that way and shows too much skin then she deserves to be raped"?"
I am a Muslim and I DO NOT believe that. Islam DOES NOT say that. Just because some idiots do, doesn't mean you can generalize.
Sexual harrassment does not necessarily have anything to do with sexuality. It is about a woman (or a man) being treated differently, unfairly, or in a sexual manner based solely upon the fact the she (he) is of a different sex. The reason the women were harrassed in this story was because they "took jobs from men" and "didn't belong in the mine", not because they wore bikinis in the mine. Several of the women were not what might ordinarily be called "sexy", and none of them wore revealing clothing at work, and yet they were harrassed. The claim that the film is hypocritical is baseless. Follow the old maxim: be sure your brain is engaged before putting your mouth in gear.
shareI agree with the others that you don't know what the word means.
I'll give you a perfect example. My father is delving into the uberly religious group. When I was growing up we went to church on sundays, CCD, had the values encouraged at home... or so I thought. Now he goes to church every day and prays the rosary all the freaking time... even while driving... he has missed exits all over the place because he is too busy thinking God will get him home!
Here is when I noticed the hypocrisy of it all! He would go into to Home Depot for example, and want one thing. Instead of waiting on line to pay he just walked out of the store saying to me "I'll pay for it later."
Then we went to the cheap movies. The movie had already started and there was a small line for the tickets. He just runs in. I get on line and he comes back screaming at me to "Stop embarrassing him!!" How the hell was I embarrassing him?? He was the one stealing from the two dollar movies!! Not only hypocritical, but also pathetic!
This summer we were at Home Depot again. We had two bottles of this grout paint with us and got in line for the self check out. He scans one of the bottles and then starts to bag the second one without scanning it. I nudge him and say really quietly "you didn't scan it". He Shhh!'s me!
I mean really!
"Oh Thank you God! Thank you so BLOODY much!" Basil Fawlty
But what on earth does that have to do with North Country?

Sounds like your the type of idiot who blames rape on what the women wear not how vile, evil, or pathetic the perpetrator is. People have free will, now put your big boy pants on and recognize everyone is accountable for their own actions not because someone shows a little cleavage.
Because a woman should be ashamed to have nice boobies and therefore should keep them covered, or else she'll be harassed/raped? Stfu.
