Is THAT what I think it was?

When one of the women miners opened up her locker and screamed when she saw her sweater...was that stuff on it the same stuff that got Pres. Clinton in trouble with Monica Lewinsky?
If it was, then that's a first for a major motion picture.

Does anyone have any idea what the prop dept. used to make that stuff? It sure looked real.

what about Silence of the Lambs or There is Something About Mary

reply

Yes, I believe that in the closing credits, there is a credit for "Semen Man."

reply

i laugh when i think about the guy that played that role.

"hey guys! i got a part in a movie!"

"really?!? what's it called?"

"North Country."

"What's it about?"

"It's about sexual harrassment in the context of a male-dominated, blue collar, mining company in Minnesota circa 1989. It stars Charlize Theron."

"Awesome! What part do you play?"

"Semen man."

"wait, did you say, "semen", as in....?"

"As in male ejaculate."

"oh..."

"yeah."

"congratulations."

reply

LMAO Nice one.

I thought you must be joking, but sure enough there in the credits is "Semen Man", played by Todd Anderson. This may actually be a step up for Todd, whose recent credits include "Angry Man" and "Portly Barber". Not every actor gets to contribute their precious bodily fluids to the making of a film as fine as this one.

Repo Man is always intense!

reply

I understood the credit was for the guy that was walking out of the room when the women were walking into it.

reply

Yes it was what you thought it was. No it was not a first, not hardly. Glad something so simple made you so happy.

reply

Seriously, the credit of "semen man" must be some kind of inside joke. I doubt that was real semen. I would think it was some of that liquid hand soap, or something similar. With liquid soap, the prop department would have creative control over where the semen lands, and how it would look on the sweater versus having some guy jerk off onto the garment and risking the stuff shooting all over the place. Under the hot lights and reshoot after reshoot, there are just too many variables that could lead to the degradation of the alleged semen.

and besides, the shot of the actual stuff was most likely and INSERT shot, meaning second unit photography.

Not there with the main actors.

reply

Well of course they didn't use real semen for the shot. Duh. But it was supposed to be real.

"He married her six weeks after the... previous sequence."

reply

'semen man' isnt an inside joke. thats the role.......shortest way to describe it really. that being the name of the role isnt implying that the semen used in the shot was real. how does someone come to that conclusion (pun intended)?

although i heard that Todd Anderson is a method actor

reply

So is Vincent Gallo, but that's not important here.

I thought the credit of "Semen Man" was hilarious. but I remembered who it was instantly. And of course, they didn't use the real stuff. These Internet conversations are so entertaining.

Haha, yeah, they use the same stuff that the adult porn industry uses for cum shots... Sweetened Condensed Milk. You can get it in the canned baking goods section of any supermarket, though they will often add a little water to get it the same exact consistency as cum.

Planning to play a prank on someone? lol

Yep. It's one of the many things the film didnt spell out for the audience. They never had her say "It's CUM! That @$$hole jerked off in my locker!!!" I guess they expected the primarily adult audience to just *know* what the stuff was. And most of us did.

Yuck, though. YUCKKKKKK!!!!
