I don't believe i can be the only one utterly perplexed by the presence of Mr Hopper in this laughably terrible and utterly worthless attempt at film-making. Starring along side such greats as Kelly 'the chest' Brooks from such modern cinematic classics as the fraught erotic thriller 'three', Dennis Hopper of 'Apocalypse Now' 'blue velvet' and 'easy rider fame' must have seriously questioned where it all went wrong.
For me, it was the familiar face and skilful acting ability of Dennis Hopper that even made this movie worth watching. If Father Duffy was played by a no-name actor, I probably would not have even watched the movie to completion.
Dennis is a wonderful person and a major talent in and out of the motion picture industry. A role he took on pissed you this much off? Better check yourself.
I love that Dennis takes on roles like this. That's what makes him unique, he truly loves his craft and isn't always out for the big bucks, the best story, etc.. I am sure all those young people that had the honor of working with him learned a lot from him. Once again, Dennis made the movie interesting and made you really care. Don't you see that the mere fact you get so huffy, to the point of saying RIP, he did in fact do a great job? Sort your feelings out about this flick and Dennis and you will see the truth. He was so good. He is always so, so good, bringing so much to each and every role he takes on, adding so many layers to the role that weren't there before him. You need a better understanding of the craft to make a valid judgement of Dennis and this role.
It matters more what's in a woman's face than what's on it. -Claudette Colbert
Thanks for adding some sense to this. One of the reasons I've loved Dennis Hopper is for that alone - that he just seems like he loves to work and as long as he gets paid he'll do the job. A regular working man which is a nice refresher from all those diva actors. I love the fact that he shows up in big hollywood films, to indie to almost homemade stuff! It's what makes him unique.

Hardly foreshadowing. He posted that 2 years before he died and he was old anyway. I could post 'RIP' on several other actors' forums with a good chance that they'd pass in the next couple of years.
I'm a sucker for films like this. "Ten Little Indians" is my favorite mystery, so if there's a film which follows a similar plotline, I'm hooked. If you have that same scenario with someone like Dennis Hopper in it, it's movie magic.
While not featuring the best performances, or most original plot, The casting of Hopper was absolutely genius. Because in his career, especially in the later years, he's played SO MANY bad guys, he was a perfect red herring.
I liked Hopper in this. questionable accent aside, I thought he was probably the best part of the film. And his top billing had me thinking three things. He's either A. In on it, B. A pedophile who's going to turn out to be a bad guy and be the main villian, or C. He's top billed because he's the most famous actor and he'll be among the first to go.
So I was happy as hell when none of my predictions turned out to be right. (I was sure the rapper was going to kill him when he took the food. The cop was the last person I expected to be the 2nd to die. That was a nice bit of writing in the screenplay) And when the dying cop gives him the gun, I figured that he'd been playing possum to gain everyone's trust in order to get into this position. Whoops, wrong again.
I'm definitely considering adding this to my DVD library, and Dennis Hopper is definitely the main reason in which I'd purchase this film. It was so refreshing to see him play a good-intentioned character with no sinister arc.
It's even funnier because Hopper delivered the worst acting performance in the movie by far. He spent his whole time concentrating on the terrible accent and forgot how to act.
