The Black Guy

I don't know about you but to me that black guy was pathetic. I mean an english rapper (its pathetic) he calls himself a *beep* whilst he walks around in a tracksuit and 'trainers' muttering 'innit.' It's hilerious.

reply

He reminded me of the Geico Gecko. Like, I kept wanting him to say "Wish I'd *beep* switched to Geico" or sumthin.

Nooooo, nononono, your inability to spell, thats what's hilarious.

Whilst i'm here, care to elaborate on what's so pathetic about being an english rapper? uk hiphop is putting out some of the most original urban music in years at a time when the majority of hiphop is just shiny paint-by-numbers crap, you mock the term trainers simply because its not a term YOU use, those Reeboks you have on? british...wearing Adidas or Puma? both german, America is not the beginning and end of this *beep* planet, other people with other accents and other terminology exist outside of your self serving war mongoring gluttonous country.
England has ghetto's just like america, those ghetto's are home to many young black men and women with their own slang and vernacular just like america, believe me, and just incase you are one of those uneducated fools who thinks america is the originator of everything, you speak english...ENGLISH.

reply

what an ass hole!! what are you tryin' to say that the UK has no rap talent? ashley walters was part of so solid crew...he aint no *beep* american rapper. He is a british mc and a successful one, so go *beep* off kina boy 1!!!

I am an avid student of history. Can you explain to me what is so funny about USA history? Tragic, interesting, ironic, and noteworthy are all words that come to mind when I think of US and most world history. Do you care to elaborate on your point?

reply

Why do all dumb *beep* stagger onto boards and say "care to elaborate" just to sound smart?
No one actually says that unless you're a total snob.

I'm a dumb *beep*?

ustayherepenny, thank you. I'm American, but I hate close minded idiots who have no perception of anything outside of their nice little cozy, sheltered lives they've led.

What I find funny is people on this thread making fun of US rap and rappers, as if rap wasn't invented by and developed by Black Americans.

You can down US rap all you want to, but rap wouldn't even EXIST if it wasn't for Black Americans. I'm not saying we have the best rappers (although we have some of the best) but we should at last be respected as creating one of the (now) most popular forms of music in the world.

i agree that some rap artists are lacking the the creative department to say the least. but what i found even more interesting about this movie is that in the year 2005 they still managed to lynch the black character. of all the ways that the black character could have been killed, why was it that he was killed by being hanged by a white man? just a little thought for those who think that racism and long bred acts of violence are no longer evident in movies!!!

reply

I thought they made the black guy rather cliche. I thought everything about his mannerisms had cliche and perhaps racist undertones. I don't typically look for racism in films but something about his entire hostile behavior just seemed rather unnecessary. I didn't much care for the fact that they made the one black person in the show seem so angry.

But the entire movie seemed overdone to me--like the characters--particularly the Father was a bit much. I'm a Christian and I wanted the Father to shut up. He just went on and on. Also, I notice in movies they often tend to make "religious" leaders of the church Priests instead of just pastors. In this case, perhaps it's just there were more Catholics where they were located. But it does seem that films often show priests as opposed to just pastors or reverends. I always thought it was because their attire was a little more showy.

But anyway, the film was just "Cube" with worst scenes. Everything about it screamed as if someone watched "Cube" and decided to make a similar less appealing movie as a result of it.

ustayherepenny, thank you so much for that you set the record straight I'm American and well aware that we are the last people to originate anything. As for the only black guy in the film being the one to get hanged, I think they were showing that maybe the French guy was racist. Also you have to remember the guy killed his wife... I'm sure if it wasn't a sign of racism it was just the simple fact that he wanted him to suffer and to me being hanged is pretty bad.

If you were in my place you would have done the same thing.

Rap is soooo embarassing. They look stupid, prancing around thinking they're cool by rhyming words. Pathetic.

"rap" and "talent" in the same sentence? wut?
