why are people slagging this off so much?

i personally think this show is really funny! I haven't seen the 1st series but i really want to see it since everyone is saying how much funnier it is.
I would love there to be a 3rd series!

Well, most people that come on this board are fans of the first series and they have the second series constantly in comparison with it.

I actually know a lot of people who have just watched the second series and think that it is hilarious.

If you'd seen the first series first, you would understand why people are slagging it, because a lot of the things which people liked it for have been replaced and the show is completely different really.

Even Jill is completely different in series 2.

becuase it's cack and was only done for the money.

And what evidence do you have that this is the case? Attempting to speak with such authority, minus the proof, is the move of an idiot.

What is that? Is there, perhaps, a sense of humour lurking underneath all that pointlessness and puerile exterior?

P.s.

Going around an internet forum, pedantically correcting people and condescending to others in your patented cowardly, repressed manner-is the move of a nasty, bullying piece of *beep*

No: I didn't think so. I am sorry that you seem to be confused. But, as is the norm with your type, you're too quick to pass the buck onto everyone and anyone else; ever stop to think why you might have received some of the treatment you feel you have?

Here's a clue: perhaps if you:

a) stopped posting stupid threads about how crap Series 2 is
b) accepted that it's just your opinion and not fact
c) stopped making out it is the result of a personal vandetta Julia had towards you
d) and stopped treating the undeniable down turn in quality like it's life and death (and yes, that means cutting back on the superflous hyperbole)

you might fare rather better.

There's your fantasy world thing speaking out again.

Cortsen, we can still read your posts.

In response to the original question.

I love the show, but can understand why some people do not like the second series, mainly because it's a completely different beast to the first; jokes are less subtle, and the situations less believable. However I've greatly enjoyed the second series. I'll admit that I liked the first year better, but this year has had its run of great moments, and I highly disagree with anyone that says that they should have not made another one.

Julia Davis continued to make me laugh to the point of suffacation, and although the jokes were cruder they still made me laugh my arse off!

The only episode I've ever been dissapointed with, was unfortunately the final one, which would have been fine in a normal series, but wasn't up to 'Nighty Night''s usual standards, which is especially bad because it was the final one.

And just another point to add: This series has kick ass music!

I know; the other guy is just being his usual idiot self.

I totally concur, and have said that all along. But there's no justification for certain idiots going round and posting new threads all the time with titles like, "You ruined a classic Julia!", "Tell me i dreamt that whole debacle of a second series!" and "Series Two sucks!" etc.

Yawn, already?

And Re: the final episode, I liked it actually. I thought the first was by far and away the weakest.

Series 2 is not as good as the first series, due to the fact that Series 1 was a totally original concept when it first appeared on television. The shock of Jill's tyranical behaviour has worn off somewhat, and the location, characters and jokes are all very different in the second series. Having said that I have still really enjoyed the second series, and think its definitely one of the very best comedies of 2005 and that the show has been very funny throughout. Julia Davis set impossible standards with the first series, and although the second wasn't as good, its still brilliant, sick, comedy at its best. That's just my opinion though
